5th Annual TOSCA Cruise to Two Harbors, Santa Catalina Island
![]() |
The Fifth Annual Tosca Cruise was a great success again! We had a total of twenty boats in attendance. Boats came from virtually every harbor in our region, from Ventura to San Diego. We were particularly pleased that the Tartan/C & C owners Steve and Stephanie Malbasa joined us in their beautiful Tartan 4300. We were also delighted that Greg Farrah and his wife Dorothy could join us as well. So our group had plenty of relaxed time to interact with these people and hear about future plans for all aspects of the Tartan scene. We began our weekend with an opening night barbecue on Friday evening. A highlight of the weekend was a presentation on Saturday morning by Steve Malbasa; we heard a candid and encouraging assessment of the Tartan/C&C operation that was most informative. Then Don McLennan gave a presentation on our new Web site. If you are reading this, you know about the site but don’t leave until you have taken the time to explore all of its features! Thanks to many hours of labor and much creativity by Don, we have a wonderful site that will serve all of us and others as well. We then had a cocktail period at The Banning House, which offers stunning views of both Cat Harbor and Isthmus Cove, and we retreated to dinner at The Harbor Reef. The weekend was put together by Bill Solberg. We all owe him our thanks. We are already in the early planning stages for the 2012 cruise. The dates will be Friday, June 22- Sunday, June 24 so mark you calendars now and reserve the weekend! |
