ANNUAL DINNER ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 23

The best possible way to celebrate is by joining TOSCA for its Annual Dinner in San Diego!! This year, we are doing something a bit different and we’re having a BBQ at the home of Fred & Pascale Hayem, in lieu of a restaurant. It’s less expensive (no paying for a private room at a restaurant and no mark-up on the drinks) and will be a whole lot more fun. They will be grilling up something spectacular to eat and we each need to bring a side dish (salad, appetizers, dessert, etc…. ) to share. Also please bring your favorite beverage to share.

NOTE: Because the Hayem’s will be cooking us dinner via their amazing grill, WE NEED A HEAD COUNT. That will dictate what exactly is being grilled (i.e., a whole pig roast versus something smaller and a little less ambitious). We are hoping for the whole pig! They need sufficient advance notice so that they can order the food before the party.

Here’s the vital info:

DATE: SATURDAY, JANUARY 23, 2016
TIME: 4:00 p.m.
ADDRESS: 1219 EMERALD STREET, SAN DIEGO

PLEASE RSVP by January 20, 2016 to Laura McLennan (lmclennan@mmattys.com) so that we can get Fred & Pascale a head count.

SAN DIEGO BOAT SHOW ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 23

If you are interested in attending the San Diego Boat Show prior to the BBQ, here’s the link with all the information: http://bigbayboatshow.com/

SAILING ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 24

If El Niño and the weather permits, we hope to go out sailing on Sunday with our San Diego hosts – Taina (Fred & Pascale Hayem) and Sans Frontiere (Nico & Jena Jonville). Please RSVP for that, as well, so that we can make sure we’ve got everything we need. In the past, everybody has brought something to share, so we’ll probably continue with that tradition.

ANNUAL DINNER MEETING AND ELECTIONS

It’s time for the annual elections. If anybody is interested in becoming a director or officer of TOSCA, the door is wide open! Just let us know and we’ll get the word out. It would be lovely to have some new people helping out with all the organization. As you will be hearing more about at the meeting, Keith Fullenwider (Sanguine) and Don McLennan will be double-handing the Pacific Cup from San Francisco to Hawaii this summer. Mary Fullenwider and Laura McLennan will be joining them in Hawaii for a few weeks of sailing. This means that they will not be here to plan the Annual Rendezvous (unless scheduled in Hawaii), so we will need somebody to step up and get that planned.

The formal election will take place during the dinner. Our current roster is:

Board of Directors
Donald McLennan
Frank Conner
Keith Fullenwider

Officers
President – Donald McLennan
CFO - Patty Conner
Secretary – Frank Conner
Social Director – Laura McLennan
Cruise Director – Keith Fullenwider

BRING YOUR CALENDARS!!

We will be planning the events for the year at the Annual Dinner, so please bring your calendars to the BBQ. Hope to see everybody there!!

NEW MEMBER, NEW BOAT, MARINA DEL REY

Gary and Diane Schaffel should be taking delivery of their brand-new Tartan 4000, Odyssey, hull #21 in early February. They offered to host a welcoming gathering and would like to invite everyone. We will schedule a weekend date towards the end of February. Stay tuned for specifics. We look forward to Gary and Diane's participation and seeing their new Tartan 4000.

Thanks everyone for a fabulous 2015 and we look forward to an equally exciting 2016!
