Another update from Gary regarding his  new Tartan 4000,

As Gary offered, let's plan on getting together in February to see his new Tartan!

Hello fellow Tartan Owners,

Attached are pix from my last and final trip to beautiful downtown Mentor, Ohio and the Tartan Factory. We are almost there. They had a minor setback when they found out that their keel maker shipped a beaver tail keel instead of the fin keel I had ordered. That’s what happens when you don’t sell many boats on the West Coast where we actually have deep water. That set things back two weeks, but they are now scheduled to ship the boat this week, with delivery the first week of January. Hope to have the boat ready to sail January 14 or 15.

I would like to get some feedback on dinghies and motors. From what I have read, it seems like a inflatable 9 or 10 footer that can be rolled up and stored in the lazerette is the best way to go. I will mainly be using it for short runs from the boat to shore at Catalina Harbor. I like the convenience, and weight, and no gas smell of an electric Torqueedo motor around 2 to 4 hp. What have you found the best?

For members of TOSCA, lets start thinking about an event in Marina del Rey mid-February. I can arrange guest dock tie ups at Del Rey Yacht if you want to sail there.

For members or TONE, you now have one more reason to come to Los Angeles.

Happy Holidays to all.
